Day 2- Ticonderoga, Friends Lake, NY.

Monday morning.

Above is the Swift House Inn, our hotel for Sunday night. As for last night, the whole group had dinner at Two Brothers Tavern and
Kenz and I took a nice stroll all through Middlebury College campus.  The table shared poutine because we are so near the Canadians. And because of french fries.

This chart for today’s ride must be out of proportion because it looks too steep for such a laid back ride as this.

 At 3 pm. Monday

Soggy wet day from start to finish, from shoes to helmet, from the leader to sweeper. Due to the rain, this day was one we wouldn’t consider riding on at home but of course we went forth with a smile and rode every single mile.

So wonderful to get dry and clean in our beautiful room with a view of the lake at Friends Lake Inn.

The ride was harder too with full on climbing for the first 15 miles. The next few days will be challenging as well. But at least two dry days are forecast so that will be welcomed.

  1. It was a great day to wear a blue rain jacket! Kudos on those hills and wow that poutine looks excellent.

  2. I hope we won’t need that rain jacket again on this trip! ☺️

  3. I knew that was poutine! Having María in Canada and having tried it there I knew it. Also had it in Holland years ago. Sorry for the rainy condition. You guys are way braver then me.
