What's the weather going to be like up there in Vermont?
If you've read my earlier blog post from our bike trip to Moab, you'll see I educate you on something: the number one question people ask about vacation is: "how was the weather?" (see March 7 post) I'm pleased to report that the weather for our upcoming trip to Vermont looks promising, sunny and at least 10 degrees cooler than Atlanta and much nicer humidity too.
Now that that's out of the way, maybe you can wonder along with me about Covid, as it seems everyone is getting infected during or after their vacations. Hoping, hoping and trying to plan for there not to be a post anywhere on this blog that mentions a positive Covid test, or the sniffles or the cough or any of that tiresome business.
The other essential details of the trip are:
- This is a mother-daughter outing that we planned early in 2022. Vacation anticipation a wonderful thing. (March 3 post.) We're coming from D.C. and Atlanta. I can't wait to catch up with my dearest daughter (29) who makes me laugh and feel quite young.
- We are going with Wilderness Voyagers (WV). I did not get a personal recommendation for this company, but I did do some research. My gut feeling (and, I should add, a straightforward consideration of the rates) is that they will be fantastic.
- We will bike for six days, sometimes near Burlington, VT, where neither of us have been but both of us have wanted to visit, and mostly in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Daily rides will be from 35 to 45 miles. Some noticeable hills. We are renting bikes and there will be 12 in our group.
- WV has summarized the whole trip in a nifty bundle of information downloaded to the RidewithGPS app. Maybe you've taken organized touring rides like this before and know how this is done. I have not, and I am blown away at the comprehensive digital package of information they shared. I love that all of our hotels, rides, background info. on the towns, contacts with guides, and ways to share photos with each other is right there in the app. I'm excited to see how that will work as our trip gets underway.

- I plan to post an image of our ride map each day, some pictures, anecdotes, maybe some food pictures that, honestly and you already know it, you will love the best. Also, weather reports. π¦π€π
